July 3 Celebration & Tailgate - One Service at 10am
On July 3, we’re having a big party at each of our campuses with one service at 10am. After the service, we’re having a tailgate in our campus parking lots with lots of food, drinks & desserts. At the tailgate, our Micro Churches and other OneLifers will be previewing their different Serve The City projects (happening later in July) so that everyone can start getting involved. For all the details - or if you’d like to host a tailgate spot & serve the city project - visit onelifeknox.com/party or let us know on your Connection Card.
MANDay Night Out - Monday, July 11
July 11 isn’t just going to be another Monday night. For the guys of OneLife, it’ll be a MANDay Night! We’re heading over to 865-Axe Throwing to grill hot dogs, hear a challenging devotional, and then hit the axe throwing cages for anyone that would like to participate! The cost of axe throwing is $20/person. For more information and to register, visit onelifeknox.com/manday or write “MANDay Night” on your Connection Card. And dads, bring your middle and high school sons with you!

BOTTOM LINE: Living in the Kingdom supplies all I need for living.
John 6:1-5 NLT
1 After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias. 2 A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick. 3 Then Jesus climbed a hill and sat down with his disciples around him. 4 (It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.) 5 Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”
1. There is a natural longing for what the Kingdom supplies.
John 6:5-9 NLT
5 Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” 6 He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do. 7 Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!” 8 Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. 9 “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”
2. Earthly resources can’t really meet the need.
John 6:10-11 NLT
10 “Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) 11 Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted.
John 6:12-13 NLT
12 After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.” 13 So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.
START THINKING
Read John 6:1-5.
- Why do you think the crowds were looking for Jesus?
- How did they know about him?
- What do you think this means for us that should be happening around us?
- What can you see in the world around us that proves there is a longing for what we know only the Kingdom can provide?
- What are needs that people are always looking to get met?
- What are the ways that you see people looking to meet those needs?
START SHARING
Read John 6:5-9.
- When have you felt like Phillip and Andrew?
- When have you felt like, "I could work for months and never meet this need in my life"?
- Or when have you felt like, "I have just this or that, and that's not enough"?
- How does this kind of thinking serve as a sign that you are looking to the wrong Kingdom?
- How can this or how has this kind of thinking kept you from seeing what Jesus wanted to do in your life?
Read John 6:10-13.
- When have you seen Jesus take what little bit you have, maybe even the scraps that you thought were worthless, and he used it to meet a need in a way that you would have never expected?
- When have you seen this truth in your own life: nothing is wasted in the Kingdom?
START DOING
Read John 6:14.
- What can you do this week to point people toward Jesus and his Kingdom?
- What are steps you can take so that they see, "Surely this is what I've been expecting"?
- What is the Holy Spirit telling you to do from this story? What are you going to do about it?
START PRAYING
- Pray for each other to do what the Holy Spirit is telling you to do.
- Pray that you will each see through Kingdom eyes to see that nothing is wasted and the Kingdom supplies everything truly needed in life!

MULTIPLICATION
Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
Who in your life do you think could be discipleable or open to spiritual/missional conversations?
