MyOneLife - A 4-Week Sunday Morning Small Group Experience
The first step for every OneLifer to get involved and get to know our church culture and mission is a 4-week small group experience called MyOneLife. It takes place on Sunday mornings during the 10:45am service in the Meeting Room at each of our campuses starting September 10. You’ll learn about the vision & values of our church, discover your personal mission & spiritual gifts, and find out tons of ways to get involved. OneLife Students - United Night, This Wednesday!

Wednesday night, September the 6th, our middle & high school students from both campuses will be coming together for what we are calling a United Night! This will be an amazing night of unity and a great opportunity for our students to invite friends. September’s United Night will take place at the East Campus. Doors open at 7pm and we will wrap up at 8:15pm. For more information mark the OneLife Students box on the Connection Card. We can’t wait to see you there.

Fall Night of Worship - September 27
OneLifers, mark your calendars for Wednesday night, September 27th at 6:30pm for our Fall Night of Worship. Both campuses will join together at our East campus for an extended time of music, prayer, communion, and a special message from Pastor Rodney. Plus, since it’s the fall season, outside after the service we'll have several fire pits & s’mores, hot chocolate, and some fun stuff for the kids! Childcare will be available for 2nd Grade and younger. We can’t wait to see you then!

Baptism

If you’ve given your life to Jesus but haven’t gone public with your story through baptism then it’s time to take that step! Mark the baptism box on your Connection Card and we’ll help you get started.

1. Joy is a choice.

Philippians 4:4 BSB

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

James 1:2 NLT

2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

James 1:3-4 NLT
3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

2. Joy is an intentional response.

James 1:2 NLT

2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

3. Joy and grief can coexist.

1 Peter 1:4-6 NIV

4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

4. Jesus - not circumstances - produces joy.

START TALKING
- Have you had an exciting situation to look forward to that allowed you to get through a trying circumstance?
- How does this help you know the difference between joy and happiness. 

START THINKING
Read James 1:2-4.
- Why do you think James says, “consider it an opportunity.” What does he mean by that?
Read 1 Peter 1:4-6.
- Why does paul say we must suffer grief and all kinds of trials? How can joy and grief coexist?

START SHARING
Read James 1:2-4 again.
- What are some current trials that you find yourself going through? How do you tend to respond/react in those circumstances?  
Read Phillipeans 4:4.
- How can we rejoice in Jesus and not in external conditions?  
How can choosing joy amidst hard situations impact those around you?

START DOING
- What current trials in your life do you feel God calling you to “count it all joy”?
- How will choosing joy this week change the way you pray?  How might God use it to share your story?
- What are you going to do differently because you know you have an inheritance waiting for you in heaven?
 
START PRAYING

Take some time to share about the circumstances you're going through and pray that God fills each of you with His inexpressible joy!
Pray that we will remember that grief and trials are temporary but true Joy that comes from Jesus.
