BOTTOM LINE: I already have what I need to leave my mark.

Exodus 31:1-6 NLT
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. 5 He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft! 6 “And I have personally appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the gifted craftsmen so they can make all the things I have commanded you to make:

1. My mark will be unique to me.

Exodus 31:3 NLT
3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.

2. My mark is just as important as any other mark.

Exodus 31:7-11 NLT
7 the Tabernacle; the Ark of the Covenant; the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement; all the furnishings of the Tabernacle; 8 the table and its utensils; the pure gold lampstand with all its accessories; the incense altar; 9 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils; the washbasin with its stand; 10 the beautifully stitched garments—the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests; 11 the anointing oil; the fragrant incense for the Holy Place. The craftsmen must make everything as I have commanded you.”

3. My mark may be big or small.

4. A permanent mark is made for someone else not me.

Exodus 31:11 NLT
11 the anointing oil; the fragrant incense for the Holy Place. The craftsmen must make everything as I have commanded you.”

5. Listening to God is the first step to leaving my mark.

START TALKING
When have you felt like someone you knew "left a mark"? Maybe it was someone from your childhood or someone you've known through your career.

Where and when have you felt like you "left a mark" that will far outlive you? It doesn't have to be spiritual! But when you are gone, what will be a difference that you have made somewhere or with someone?

START THINKING
Read Exodus 31:1-5.
 - What did the Spirit of God give Bezalel?
 - What do you think the significance of this is?
 - Does it seem like something we would normally expect the Spirit of God to give?
 - Why or why not?

Read Exodus 31:6.
 - What did God give Oholiab and all the craftsmen?
 - How would they leave a mark in what might seem like insignificant ways?
 - How was it actually far more significant than it may appear?

- Why do you think we may often assume the filling of God's Spirit would lead to something "bigger" or "better" than this?
- Why do we downplay these types of contributions, and why shouldn't we?

START SHARING
How have you downplayed what the Spirit of God may have filled you with, because it didn't seem like a skill or a craft that could really leave a mark?

What is something that you are good at or that you enjoy doing that you have allowed God to use to leave a mark?
What is something along these lines that maybe you haven't used yet but God could use, even if it seems "small"?

When you think about where you live, work, and play, who are the people that you can leave a mark on? What is the craft or the calling that God has given you that could leave a permanent mark on them?

START DOING
What are some things you can do this week to start to get to know the people around you so you can leave a mark where you live, work, and play?

What is a Serve the City project that you are going to commit to so we can leave a mark together as a church? No matter how big or small, each of these have the potential to leave a mark on someone!

START PRAYING

Pray for each other in the micro church to not be afraid to use whatever gift or talent, no matter how big or small, to leave a mark on someone else. Pray that each of us will be filled with the Spirit of God to have the ability, wisdom, and understanding to impact those around us for eternity!

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:

Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?
