SERMON NOTES & DISCUSSION

The maturity of my relationship with Jesus is equal to the magnitude of my faith.

Matthew 8:8 NLT
8 But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.

Matthew 8:9 NLT
9 I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”

Matthew 8:10 NLT
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!

Mark 6:3 NLT
3 Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.

Mark 6:5-6 NLT

5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their unbelief. Then Jesus went from village to village, teaching the people.

1.  Jesus was never amazed by knowledge or obedience - only faith.

Hebrews 11:1 NIV

1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

2. Faith has an object.

3. The object of faith is not a particular outcome.

John 14:1 NIV

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me.

4. Jesus came to establish himself as the object of my faith.

Hebrews 11:1 NIV
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

5. Faith looks different in every season of life.

WHAT WOULD I DO IF I HAD CONFIDENCE GOD IS WITH ME?

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:

Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
Who in your life do you think could be discipleable or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?
