This year as a part of our Community Christmas Services at the end of December, we are recording a huge OneLife Christmas Choir. An information & interest meeting along with the first rehearsal will take place on Sunday night, October 24 at 6pm at the North Campus. Anyone 16 and older can be a part! To sign up or find out visit onelifeknox.com/choir.

Night of Worship, October 27

Do you love the OneLife worship experience on Sundays? Then you’ll for sure love our Night of Worship! It’s happening Wednesday night, October 27 at 6:30pm. Our campuses and Micro Churches will all join together at our East campus for an extended time of music, prayer, communion, and a few other special surprises. We can’t wait to see you there!

Halloween On Mission!
Halloween is almost here - and guess what? We don’t want you to celebrate Halloween! What? That’s right - don’t celebrate it. Use it! Use that night as an opportunity to live on mission in your neighborhoods where you can get to know people, share your story, and develop relationships. You can do this individually, with your family & friends, or with your Micro Church. To get some creative ideas that will help you get started, visit onelifeknox.com/halloweenhttp://onelifeknox.com/halloween.

SERMON NOTES & DISCUSSION

Bottom Line:
Sharing the word as milk helps me and others understand the meat.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2 NLT
1 Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. 2 I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready,

1. Talk about God and his word in a way they can understand.

1 Peter 3:15 NLT
15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.

1 Corinthians 3:2 NLT
2 I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready,

2. I have to process the meat to be able to offer milk.

1 Corinthians 3:2 NLT
2 I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready,

3. Share God's word as milk so one day others may be able to eat meat.

HOW CAN WE DO THIS?

1. STORY

2. YOUR STORY

How has someone had to change the way they explained something so that you could better understand? (A doctor explaining a condition, a teacher explaining a topic, something presented online that changed the way you understood something).

Start Thinking

Read 1 Corinthians 3:1. How would being young in your faith (infants in Christ) or no faith at all (belong to this world) keep you from understanding complex spiritual truths?

Read 1 Corinthians 3:2. How does the analogy of a baby not being able to handle solid food and needing milk relate to us as Christ followers trying to understand God's word?

Read 1 Peter 3:15. Why does this verse matter when it comes to us understanding scripture?

Start Sharing
How have you experienced someone explaining a spiritual truth in a way that you could easily understand it?

Think about some of the parables that Jesus taught (skim through Luke 13 for some inspiration). Is there one in particular that has meant a lot to you? How does it being taught as a parable make it easier to understand and relate to?

Start Doing

Think of a scripture that has meant something to you and your faith. Read that scripture out loud. Now - how would you share that scripture with someone who is new to faith (the "milk" of the scripture)?

How will you let this new way of processing scripture change the way you read and study God's word this week? Who will you be thinking of as you read?

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:

Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
Who in your life do you think could be discipleable or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?
