ANNOUNCEMENTS
40 Days of Prayer and Fasting
From August 18 to September 26, we’re inviting everyone to join us in prayer each day as we seek God for OneLife and the new season ahead. In addition to praying daily, we’re asking each person to choose at least one day during this time to participate in a true biblical fast on behalf of our church. We’ll have someone hosting the calendar to help get you signed up for the day you choose. We’ll also send you reminders, provide helpful resources, and walk with you every step of the way. Let’s believe together that every day will be covered in both prayer and fasting!
Micro Church Launch, August 24th
Sunday, August 24th, at 6pm at our North & East campuses, all of our existing Micro Churches as well as several new ones will be kicking off the new semester together! Everyone will meet, have a potluck dinner together, and experience what a typical Micro Church gathering will look & feel like. Childcare will be provided. Visit onelifeknox.com/mclaunch to register or mark the Micro Church box on your Connection Card.

START TALKING:
When have you experienced something that you thought you were prepared for or had seen before, but once you started or were in the midst of it, you realized it was unlike anything you had done before?
START THINKING:
Read Isaiah 43:1-19. What are the "former things" or "all that" that God wants the nation of Israel to stop relying on and living in?
As amazing as these things are that God has done for them in their past, why does he want them to stop calling those to mind or relying on them?
START SHARING:
What are the former things or "all that" that God has done for you in the past? Even though He doesn't want you to live in the past and rely on those, that was the flame that got ignited in and for you! Share those things and celebrate them for a moment.
If you continue looking backward, what does verses 18 and 19 say you might miss out on? What might that be for you? What might it be for our church?
Read John 14:12. How does this verse align with the message of Isaiah 43:18-19? What are the greater things that you have and we have experienced? How have you experienced this truth in your everyday life and in your own spiritual journey?
START DOING:
Read Isaiah 43:22-23 again. What do these verses challenge you and us to do so that we can fuel the flame and experience what we have never experienced before?
What days will you fast as part of our 40 days of prayer and fasting? What are you asking God to do? What are you expecting from this time? What will you pray that God does in and through our church during this time?
START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the micro church to experience God in a way that they have never experienced Him before as they do what they have never done before. Pray that we will not live in the past - be it in our personal lives, our families, or in our church - but build on the past to experience what we have never experienced before!

MULTIPLICATION
Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
- Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
- What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
- How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
- How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
- Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?/giveback/giveback

Bottom Line: To go where I have never gone before, I must be willing to do what I have never done before.
Isaiah 43:18 NLT
But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
1. Living in the past prevents moving into the future.
Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT
But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
2. What God desires for the future doesn't even compare to what I experienced in the past.
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
3. The new thing fuels the flame of what God has already started.
Isaiah 43:22-23 NLT
But, dear family of Jacob, you refuse to ask for my help. You have grown tired of me, O Israel! You have not brought me sheep or goats for burnt offerings. You have not honored me with sacrifices, though I have not burdened and wearied you with requests for grain offerings and frankincense.
4. My prayer and my sacrifice fuel the flame.
Isaiah 43:25 NLT
I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.
