START TALKING (Break the Ice):
When have you gone from being an attender or a spectator to being on the team? What did you notice changed about your investment, interest, or understanding once you became more than a passive participant but became active?
If you treated family like many do when they just "go to church," and you said, "I go to family" instead of "I am part of my family," what would be different? Would it work? Why or why not?
START THINKING (Dig Into Scripture and Truth):
Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-26.
What sticks out to you about this passage and how simply Paul explains to these new Christians what it means to be part of this new faith? How would you explain this in your own words to someone who has never heard of this before?
How is this different than what many in the American, traditional church seem to believe by default - that faith is a private matter and all that matters is your individual relationship with Jesus?
START SHARING (Make It Personal):
We are all expected to be part of the body! What have you experienced when you went from simply going to a church service to really being part of the body? What steps did you take to go to the next level? How did you find your "part" and how did you know when you found it?
When you have truly been active as part of the body, how have you experienced being able to meet needs or be there for someone else when they needed it? Would this have been possible if you only "went" to church instead of being part of church?
Now turn that around, when have you had needs met or been ministered to by someone else in the body? How did they know you and how did you know them? Would you have been ministered to in this way if you only attended church instead of being part of the body?
In 1 Corinthians 12:25, who is responsible for caring for the needs of the body? How is this different than what most in the traditional church assume? How have you experienced the benefit and beauty of this in real life versus the "hired hand" being the only one showing care for needs in the body?
START DOING (Live It Out):
What steps can you take to be better connected to the body? What can we do throughout the week to care for each other in an organic and relational way rather than an institutional way?
Read 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (see below).
How does this teaching that each Christ-follower has a unique gift fit into the idea that the body needs each of us? What gift from that list do you think most resonates with you? What can you do with that gift to be part of the body beyond simply attending a service?
How does this impact your story of what the Gospel has done for you? In a world that is isolated and lonely, what can you share with others about the benefit of following Jesus and the body that doing so makes you part of?
START PRAYING (Connect with God):
Pray for each other in the microchurch to keep it real and not do life alone. This is easier said than done! Pray that we would each love each other like Jesus loves us so that we can not do life alone and can experience life as part of the body. Pray that this impacts those we know who are far from God and are longing deep down to be connected to each other

MULTIPLICATION
Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
- Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
- What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
- How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
- How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
- Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?/giveback/giveback

Bottom Line: I don't just go to church when I don't do life alone.
1 Corinthians 12:12-16 NLT
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body?
I'm expected to be part of the body whether I like it or not!
1 Corinthians 12:17-21 NLT
If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”
Someone needs me and I need someone.
1 Corinthians 12:25-26 NLT
This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.
Being connected to the body is the only way to be part of the body.
